About Our Web Design…

The goal of Phoenix Design is to provide our clients with web pages that are easy to read, easy to navigate, quick to download, and professional in appearance. We can build a new web site from scratch, or redesign your existing site. As your web site is being developed, you can watch it grow on our private site during the consultation process.

Phoenix Design does not use boiler plate templates unless required by client. Every web site we design is customized to meet our clients' needs. Most of our clients believe as we do, that the web site has taken the place of the front door and the reception room of our businesses and, as such, is critical in making a good first impression.

Boiler plate designs are templated web pages that can be found anywhere on the internet. This is an inexpensive way to create a web site and may be appropriate for some individuals and small businesses, however, boiler plate design is very inflexible in terms of editing and appearance.

Clean, easy to read web pages

It is important to keep web pages free of clutter and extraneous graphics and information. Brevity is important, particularly on the home page.

Clear and concise navigational functions

We design navigational functions (i.e., link buttons and text) to be easily located and user-friendly.

Assistance with textual content

Most of our clients prepare the content for their web sites, however, we can assist with the development of content, if needed.

Logos

Some clients have logos that are typically incorporated into the web site. If you do not have a logo, we also provide logo design services.

Animations

We are experienced animation designers and can create many forms of animations such as rotating photo slide shows, Flash banners, etc.

Optimization of graphics and photos

Graphics and photos can require a lot of memory and consequently can take too much time to download. We crunch these files as much as possible to increase speed and still retain clarity. Web pages should download in 4-6 seconds since most people are not patient enough to wait for longer download times.

Use of meta tags

Meta tags are key words used in web page coding that can aid in search engine optimization. They can increase the frequency of the appearance of your web site on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc.

Compatibility

It is important in web design to check for compatibility of web pages with different platforms (PC v. Macs) and with different browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Netscape, etc.). The appearance of a web page can look different on other platforms (i.e., colors, text and graphic alignment, etc.). We strive to make the appearance of the web page consistent on all platforms and browsers.

Research the competition

We encourage our clients to browse competitor's web sites. This is an important tool in deciding how you want to present your own web page.
